Award winning, family run jewellers in Broadstone
We have built our reputation on excellent customer service and quality products since Ian & Susan Munro started Forum Jewellers in 1982 from a tiny shop in the small market town of Blandford Forum (hence the name!) in Dorset.
Iain had been in the jewellery business since 1966 when he first joined H Samuel, at that time still a family run business. Subsequent promotions moved him around the UK so when the opportunity presented itself to return to their home county, Iain and Sue were both keen to have a go at running their own business. They moved to Blandford in 1982 and, after five days of decoration, alterations and refitting, Forum Jewellers opened its doors and the new shop prospered.
After several years of trading Iain & Sue felt they were ready for a new challenge, opening a second shop in Dorset. In May 1998, Forum Jewellers of Broadstone opened its doors to a warm reception from the locals. In 2001, their daughter Helen joined the already well-established team and the difficult decision to sell the Blandford store was made in order to grow the potential of the Broadstone store. Forum has continued to grow and thrive and is now a well-known local name.
Our aim is always to make a visit to Forum a positive and enjoyable experience for our customers and we were very proud to have had it recognised by our local business peers when we won the Retail and Leisure Experience Award in the 2017 Dorset Business Awards as well as the 2018 Blackmore Vale Awards.
We are also recognised at a national level, having been selected as Finalists in both the Retail Jewellers Awards in 2017 & 2018, and the Professional Jewellers Awards in 2018.
winner of the ‘Retail and Leisure Experience’ Award 2018
The Dorset Business Awards, in its 23rd successful year and organised by the Dorset Chamber of Commerce and Industry, are the county’s flagship awards for business and Forum won the ‘Retail and Leisure Experience’ Award, beating off stiff competition in the category.
Lead judge, John Grinnell, from sponsors The Dolphin Shopping Centre says: ‘Forum Jewellers has a very professional team on the shop floor, and this professionalism extends to the website and their social media. The company has been shortlisted as one of our finalists for the past three years and has taken on board all the feedback from mystery shoppers over the years.” He continues:
“From looking in the shop window at the jewellery where the beautiful products are on display in a well-l presented manner, to entering the shop where the customer experience continues, excellent information was provided on the item to be purchased, as well as advice on features and benefits of their designer collections. Forum Jewellers provides a wonderful experience from start to finish.”
Helen Molloy, Forum’s Director, was ecstatic at winning the award: “ I am so happy for the whole team as we have built our reputation on providing excellent customer service, quality products and providing a warm & friendly welcome to all our customers. Our business strategy has always been to enhance the retail experience and to have it recognised by our peers from the Dorset business community is just the icing on the cake.”
